Chevron Stocks Surge on Angola Oil Discovery and Venezuela Investment Hopes

Chevron Corporation stocks have been rising by 2.21 percent due to strong oil price momentum and upbeat energy demand forecasts.

The company's shares have been trading in a tight band around $205-$206, indicating strong two-sided liquidity and bigger funds quietly building or trimming positions.

Chevron is set to benefit from the discovery of a 600-meter hydrocarbon column and 90 meters of high-quality net pay in Angola's offshore Block 0.

The planned cost-efficient tie-back to existing infrastructure matters, as it means more volumes without massive new platform spend.

Chevron has an active Sub-Saharan Africa campaign across several countries, aimed at sustaining or growing roughly 300k boe/d of net production.

The company is also close to investing several billion dollars in Venezuelan heavy-oil projects, adding two new fields to its three existing PdVSA joint ventures.
