Chevron Strikes Big Offshore Angola, Hits 2,000 Feet of Hydrocarbon Column
Chevron has made a significant oil and gas condensate discovery in Block 0 offshore Angola. The exploration well, known as 105-4X, encountered over 2,000 feet of hydrocarbon column, including more than 300 feet of net pay.
The reservoir quality is described by Chevron as 'excellent', with the potential to be developed using nearby existing facilities.
Chevron's vice president of exploration, Kevin McLachlan, said that the early results are encouraging and additional work will help determine the resource's full potential and possible development opportunities.
