Chevron Vows to Boost Domestic Gas Utilization in Nigeria
Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) has reaffirmed its commitment to increasing domestic market gas utilization, having spent around $1 billion annually over the past decade on developing Nigerian content.
The company's General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Oduselu Olusoga, stated that Chevron is committed to utilizing gas in the domestic market as Nigeria's primary transition fuel towards cleaner energy.
Chevron has undertaken various initiatives to reduce gas flaring and increase gas availability for domestic consumption, including the Meji and Escravos gas gathering projects.
The company also emphasized its commitment to Nigerian content development, having contributed to the growth and capacity development of indigenous contractors in the Niger Delta through its activities.
