Chicopee Community Mourns Loss of David A. Gill
David A. Gill, a beloved member of the Chicopee community, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the age of 75. He is remembered for his dedication to his family, his faith, and his craft as a commercial electrician. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Lise (Therrien) Gill, and four children, Jessica Johnson, Joshua Gill, Jina Gill, and Jeff Gill, David leaves behind a legacy of love and service.
Born on July 30, 1951, in Springfield, David was the son of Edward A. Gill Sr. and Wanda A. (Banas) Gill. He served in the Air National Guard and later became an Elder at Christ Presbyterian Church in Springfield. Professionally, David owned David A. Gill Contracting before transitioning to a role as an electrical specialist at Home Depot in Chicopee, where he worked for over 14 years. His colleagues and customers fondly recall his passion for building relationships and his expertise in electrical work.
David was known for his servant's heart, enjoying carpentry, building things for his loved ones, and spending quality time with his six grandchildren. He cherished trips with his wife, watching the Patriots, and engaging in sports conversations with his family. A memorial service will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 9, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Christ Presbyterian Church's Building Fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
