Chime Reports Record Growth, Acquires Stride Bank
At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026 on September 9, Chime Financial's CEO Chris Britt outlined a business that is growing faster and expanding its product lineup. The company is seeing strong momentum with full-year revenue growth guidance lifted to 30%, up from a prior range of 25% to 27%. Second-quarter volume growth accelerated to 20%, while incremental margins ran above 60% on a revenue basis.
Chime's business is supported by over 10 million monthly active users, with most using the service as their primary bank account. The company has more than 75% of members intending to be Chime members for life. Chime described itself as a top 2-3 unaided brand in online banking, alongside Chase and Bank of America.
The company is also making strategic announcements, including the acquisition of Stride Bank at 1.5 times book value. Britt said this addresses one of the final pieces of the puzzle in Chime's effort to become the number one provider of checking accounts in America. This deal will improve product velocity, platform control and trust by reducing duplicate compliance and legal review work.
