China Converts Boeing Commitment into Actual Orders
China's commitment to purchasing 200 Boeing aircraft has moved from a promise to actual orders. Speaking on Fox News, US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer confirmed that progress had been made on about 150 of these planes.
The Boeing jets are part of the major purchase commitments made by China after the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in May. Greer highlighted that around 140 aircraft are in a 'good state', with documentation underway for another ten.
Individual airlines will place orders, according to Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg. The company has not disclosed how the 200 aircraft will be divided among its models, such as the 787 Dreamliner series or the 737 MAX family.
