Nvidia's stock price has fluctuated in response to China-related news, and a recent report suggests that Beijing may allow tech giants Alibaba and ByteDance to purchase new Nvidia AI chips. The RTX PRO 5500 card is designed for professional computers, with 84 GB of memory and the ability to draw up to 600 watts.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has reportedly asked the two firms how many cards they want and why. This comes after a previous restriction in September 2022, when Beijing told companies to stop buying Nvidia's RTX Pro 6000D due to national security concerns.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said at the time that his company would only operate in countries where it was wanted. The recent report suggests that China may be reconsidering its stance on Nvidia's data-center chips, with analysts predicting a potential increase in sales.
