Christodoulides Urges Chevron to Speed Up Aphrodite Gas Field Development
Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides met with Chevron's Base Assets and Emerging Countries chairman Javier la Rosa to discuss the Aphrodite gas field project.
The president emphasized that this is a matter of strategic priority for Cyprus, citing significant progress already made in developing the deposit.
Christodoulides urged Chevron and its partners to maintain momentum and accelerate implementation, aiming to take a final investment decision as soon as possible.
The meeting also touched on energy cooperation between Cyprus and Egypt, with Christodoulides highlighting the importance of regional interconnectivity in the eastern Mediterranean.
