Chrome Adds Vertical Tabs: Is It Time to Switch Back from Arc?
Brady Snyder, a technology journalist for MakeUseOf, recently switched from Google Chrome and Safari to Arc. He made Arc his primary browser across his macOS and Windows machines due to its superb cross-platform sync and excellent tab organization. However, his experience with Arc was nearly perfect until mainstream browsers caught up.
Google finally added vertical tabs to Chrome, a feature Snyder can't live without. Vertical tabs allow users to see all their tabs, even when there are tens or hundreds of them, in a neat vertical list. This feature is ideal for users who need to manage a large number of open tabs.
Snyder notes that Chrome still isn't better than Arc in every way, but it doesn't have to be. However, Arc's support is dwindling, and the company behind Arc wants users to upgrade to Dia, an AI browser. If Snyder isn't ready to take that leap for privacy or functionality reasons, he'll need to find a replacement eventually.
