Circle's Arc Blockchain Launches with Big Finance On Board
Circle Internet Group has announced the founding validator cohort for its Arc Layer-1 blockchain, which is set to launch on September 16. The list includes major financial institutions such as BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, Goldman Sachs, SBI Group, and Standard Chartered.
The validators aim to meet the trust, security, operational, and compliance standards required of critical financial market infrastructure. BlackRock's BUIDL fund will be deployed on Arc, allowing institutional investors to subscribe, redeem, and deploy fund assets in a single onchain environment.
Circle is also partnering with DTCC to enable tokenization of DTC-custodied assets on Arc beginning in the second half of 2027. Other financial giants such as BNY are exploring integrations with the network for tokenized asset settlement, digital asset custody, stablecoin access, and FX and repo infrastructure.
Circle reported $701.3 million in revenue for Q2, below the expected $712.3 million. However, its EPS of $0.18 beat consensus estimates of $0.16, and CRCL stock price jumped more than 1% to around $64 in premarket trading today.
