P&G Snaps Up Thorne for $3.8 Billion in Health and Wellness Bet
Consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble has made a significant move into the health and wellness sector by acquiring supplement maker Thorne for $3.8 billion from L Catterton, a private equity group backed by LVMH.
The purchase will add a trusted health and wellness business to P&G's portfolio, which already includes brands such as Gillette, Oral-B and Seven Seas. This deal aligns P&G with the growing consumer focus on healthier lifestyles and self-care.
L Catterton invested in Thorne in October 2023, taking it private in a $680 million deal. The supplement company is expected to reach sales of $650 million this year.
