Cisco Accused of Discriminating Against Muslim Employees After Pro-Palestinian Letter

The tech company Cisco has been accused of discriminating against its Muslim and Middle Eastern employees. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) found that Cisco likely violated civil rights by creating a hostile work environment for those who signed an open letter urging the company to cut ties with the Israeli government in 2024.

A complaint filed the same year alleged that harassing and Islamophobic messages spiked on the company's internal messaging platforms following the release of the letter. The EEOC released its findings in June, but they only recently became public after being disclosed by Politico Pro.

The report detailed numerous incidents of harassment, including employees glorifying violence, making jokes about sending people to their deaths, and labeling Palestinians as 'murderous, violent terrorists'.
