Cisco and LeapXpert Team Up to Secure WhatsApp Messaging in Webex
Cisco and LeapXpert have joined forces to address the challenge of shadow communication in businesses. The partnership integrates LeapXpert’s compliant business messaging platform into Cisco’s Webex, allowing users to securely message external contacts on WhatsApp directly from within the Webex platform. This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between enterprise-grade collaboration tools and popular consumer messaging apps, ensuring compliance and security while enhancing user convenience.
LeapXpert’s co-founder and Chief Business Officer Avi Pardo highlighted the disconnect between internal enterprise collaboration tools and external communication needs. The integration enables users to send and receive messages securely and in a regulated environment, addressing the growing preference for text-based communication over traditional voice calls. Pardo emphasized that LeapXpert’s platform acts as a secure bridge, allowing compliant interactions between enterprises and external parties on platforms like WhatsApp.
The partnership presents significant opportunities for Cisco’s channel partners, including upselling potential, data ownership, and AI capabilities. Joe Berger, vice president of digital experiences at World Wide Technology, one of Cisco’s top partners, expressed enthusiasm about the integration, particularly for customers in highly regulated industries like finance. Berger noted that the solution closes the gap between customer preferences and compliance requirements, enabling secure and controlled communication.
LeapXpert’s technology is now available via the Webex App Hub, with all messages inspected by data loss prevention controls and archived for compliance and recordkeeping. The company plans to roll out support for other messaging channels in the future.
