Cisco Bolsters Enterprise AI with Local Deployment and Cost Control

Cisco Systems Inc., (CSCO) is taking steps to make it easier for enterprises to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) within their own walls. The company has rolled out a wave of updates designed to address the practical obstacles that have kept many enterprises from scaling AI, including data sovereignty rules, runaway compute bills, and cyberattacks.

The announcements deepen Cisco's existing ties with Nvidia Corp., (NVDA) and Amazon Web Services Inc., (AMZN). The new capabilities are centered around the Cisco AI POD for Splunk, a turnkey hardware and software system built on the Cisco Secure AI Factory architecture. It allows organizations to operate the Splunk AI Assistant locally within private clouds or fully air-gapped data centers.

Cisco's Tokenomics capability inside the Splunk Agent Observability suite tracks token usage across custom AI agents and developer tools, assigning costs and forecasting consumption trends before billing cycles close. The system uses predictive analytics to help IT departments link AI expenses directly to operational results.
