Apple's Siri AI Beta Lands with iOS 27

Apple has rolled out its English beta version of Siri AI to eligible iPhone users on September 14, coinciding with the release of iOS 27. The feature will be available in other languages, including French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, by October.

To access Siri AI, users must enable it and join a waitlist; wait times vary. The technology is currently restricted to iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, the iPhone 16 series or newer models, and iPhone Air. However, it's not available in mainland China, nor does the initial rollout support iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch users in the European Union.

Siri AI enhances personal context and enables cross-app actions by recognizing on-screen content, searching for relevant information across Messages, Mail, and Photos, and performing tasks such as sending messages, creating calendar events, drafting emails, and editing photos. Its development involved collaboration with Google, using Apple's next-generation foundation models.

Apple confirmed that the technology has daily usage limits for certain features relying on server-side models, but paid expanded access will be provided in the future. Pricing schedules, launch dates, and subscription methods have not been announced.
