Cisco Cashes In On AI Boom With Record-Breaking Sales
Cisco, a networking and cybersecurity company, is capitalizing on the AI boom by selling switches, chips, and cables that data centers depend on. The company expects its AI sales to nearly double to $7.5 billion in fiscal 2027, up from about $4 billion in fiscal 2026.
This growth comes as big cloud companies are pouring billions into equipment that keeps AI data centers running. Cisco's AI infrastructure spending has exploded, with the company taking in $9.3 billion worth of orders for AI-related sales in fiscal 2026. Of this total, around 60% went towards its line of networking chips, Silicon One.
Cisco's CEO Chuck Robbins calls it a 'networking supercycle', driven by AI data centers, broader expansion, and network upgrades. While the company isn't building its own AI chips, it needs to supply the network gear that AI equipment runs on. This is a much easier lane to win than competing directly with Nvidia or other AI chip manufacturers.
