Cisco Ready to Fill in Again for Injured Jets Safety

Andre Cisco, a safety for the New York Jets, has been preparing to take on any role the team needs him to fill. After spending almost his entire career as a starting safety, Cisco found himself benched in the team's season opener against the Tennessee Titans. He took it in stride, understanding that he was being used where the coaches saw fit.

Cisco's patience paid off when Minkah Fitzpatrick, an All-Pro player and captain of the team, suffered a groin injury six plays into the game. Cisco stepped back in with the starters and played the rest of the contest, finishing with five tackles to tie for second on the team.

With Fitzpatrick listed as week-to-week and unlikely to play Sunday against the Packers, Cisco is expected to start again at MetLife Stadium. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn praised Cisco's ability to step up in a big moment, saying 'he's played a lot of football in this league and he's been a damn good player in this league.'

Cisco was happy to help out after the team's win over the Titans, but emphasized that his focus remains on being ready for whatever role is needed. He understands how quickly things can change in the NFL and has been preparing himself to be a star in his current role.
