Cisco Sees Agentic AI Driving Major Growth
Cisco executives took to the stage at Goldman Sachs' Communacopia + Technology Conference to tout the benefits of AI-driven growth for their company. Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer, and Mark Patterson, Chief Financial Officer, argued that Cisco is benefiting from one of the biggest shifts in technology in years.
The executives pointed to agentic AI as a major driver of demand, with hyperscale AI orders reaching $9.3 billion for the year, including $4 billion in the latest quarter. This represents a sharp increase from $2.3 billion two years ago and demonstrates the significant impact of AI on Cisco's business.
Patel noted that 32,000 engineers are now using AI tools to develop products, allowing the company to compress years of integration work into months. He also predicted that by the end of next year, 70% of Cisco's portfolio will be entirely AI-written, with no human lines of code.
