Cisco Stock Slips on Burden of 4,100 Daily Network Alerts
Cisco Systems' stock slipped about 0.4% to $106.265 on September 29, amidst growing concerns over network alerts. The average organization reported roughly 4,100 monitoring events a day, according to a survey of 1,000 technology leaders conducted by Omdia for Cisco.
The sheer volume of these alerts has left network teams drowning in information, with some 86% of respondents favoring a single integrated platform to clear the backlog. Cisco sees an opportunity to sell its software as a solution to this problem, combining networking, security, and observability into one platform.
However, investors will need to see concrete results before considering this story a success. With Cisco's share price sitting 41.93% above its $74.87 GF Value estimate, there is limited room for growth without significant platform bookings and customer adoption.
