Cisco Unifies Cloud Management with AI-Powered RunOn Platform
Cisco faces a fragmented cloud infrastructure challenge, spanning multiple providers and thousands of accounts. Each system offers limited visibility, making it difficult to turn data into actionable intelligence. To address this, Cisco developed RunOn, a platform that unifies data from existing systems into a single view called My Cloud Universe. This provides a comprehensive look at Cisco’s public and private cloud footprint, identifying asset ownership and necessary actions.
RunOn tailors its interface to different roles. Engineers manage accounts and resolve issues, executives monitor spending and risk, and finance managers track budgets. The platform uses AI to detect user personas and present relevant context, ensuring each role starts with the information they need. This connected view allows for cost optimization, cloud insights, and actionable recommendations.
RunOn Cloud AI enhances the platform with three types of assistance: Learn, Query, and Act. Users can get instant answers, ask plain-language questions about their cloud footprint, and execute actions directly. Future plans include integrating RunOn Cloud AI with Cisco’s Super-Agent (MyAgent) to bring cloud-related questions and actions into a single chat interface.
