Cisco Warns of Rapidly Accelerating Cyber Threats Driven by Artificial Intelligence
Cisco Systems has sounded the alarm on the need for a new AI-driven cyber defense strategy in light of rapidly accelerating cyber threats. The company notes that artificial intelligence is shrinking the time between vulnerability disclosure and weaponization, with some instances now taking only hours.
This shift in the cybersecurity landscape is attributed to the increasing use of AI models to identify vulnerabilities and generate exploits, making it essential for organizations to adapt their defense strategies accordingly.
Cisco's Security and Trust Organization demonstrated the power of AI in cyber defense by using several frontier AI models to scan 1.8 billion lines of code across more than 25 languages in just eight weeks, a task that would have taken eight years without AI.
