Ciscomani Supports Bipartisan Funding Bill to Avoid Government Shutdown
Congressman Juan Ciscomani has voted in favor of a bipartisan continuing resolution to fund the federal government through December 11. The move aims to prevent another government shutdown, which would have significant consequences for military personnel, law enforcement officers, and Arizona veterans.
The House passed H.R. 6500, the 'Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2027', by a vote of 370-48. Ciscomani supported the temporary measure to prevent disruptions in government services while Congress continues negotiations over full-year appropriations bills.
'Today, I voted for a bipartisan, temporary Continuing Resolution (CR) to prevent another government shutdown,' stated Ciscomani. 'A government shutdown is not a political game; it has REAL consequences.' He pointed out that the potential impact would include disrupted pay for troops, unpaid work for Customs and Border Protection agents and law enforcement officers, and disruptions in services for Arizona veterans.
