Cisco Systems' own IT department has demonstrated the potential for Wi-Fi 7 to boost enterprise security, reducing reported security incidents by up to 40% across its global network. The deployment showed that upgrading to Wi-Fi 7 can deliver not only faster connectivity and improved performance but also strengthen security posture.

Cisco's Secure Networking approach combines zero trust, segmentation, and integrated security controls to protect against threats while keeping user experience simple for employees and IT teams. According to Mohannad Abuissa, CTO & Senior Director, Solutions Engineering, METAC, 'Modernising the network is an opportunity to rethink how security is built into the enterprise.'

The company highlighted three key areas that can help organisations strengthen protection: reinforcing zero trust from the network layer, building security directly into network infrastructure, and using segmentation to limit lateral movement.
