Citi Analyst Sees Growth Opportunities in Restaurant Sector
Jon Tower, an equity research analyst at Citi, is optimistic about three restaurant stocks: McDonald's, Dutch Bros, and Chipotle.
Tower believes that McDonald's will see a revival in U.S. same-store sales due to the launch of energy drinks on August 17 and digital initiatives. The company plans to cut costs by streamlining its supply chain and improving labor deployment within stores.
Dutch Bros' strong unit economics and growing demand for energy drinks make it well-positioned to continue expanding, despite new competition from McDonald's entry into the market.
Chipotle's food-safety concerns are seen as temporary and supplier-related, with Tower predicting that the company will achieve mid-single-digit comparable-sales growth by the fourth quarter.
