Glass Anniversary iPhone Faces Production Hurdles

Apple is reportedly planning to launch an anniversary model of the iPhone next year, which will mark the device's 20th birthday. The special model will feature a glass design that covers both the front and back of the phone.

However, analysts at Jefferies have downgraded Apple's stock rating due to rumors suggesting that the anniversary model could be canceled due to low production yield. According to sources among component manufacturers, there are fears about the feasibility of mass-producing a glass iPhone.

Jeanne Lampe, an analyst at Bloomberg, reportedly contradicts these concerns by stating that production is on track and that the glass will be curved at the edges. Additionally, it's mentioned that Apple tested a more ambitious variant but abandoned it due to connectivity issues between the front and back panels.

In related news, Apple plans to introduce its first foldable smartphone this fall, before releasing the anniversary model next year.
