Clipto, a startup that enables users to build a private AI memory layer for their personal media, has raised $15 million in funding at a post-money valuation of $250 million. The company announced its native Windows and Android apps, along with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which allows AI agents to securely search users' private video libraries.

Clipto's platform is already used by over 30 million consumers and professionals worldwide, including those at Google, Apple, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, McKinsey, and other leading organizations. The company aims to help people and AI agents instantly search, understand, and work with their private media without giving up control of their data.

The problem Clipto is addressing is the high cost and low privacy of traditional video search methods. Current tools require uploading media to the cloud, creating privacy concerns, bandwidth bottlenecks, higher costs, and slower workflows. Clipto's solution uses proprietary on-device AI to index media without ever sending files to the cloud.
