Microsoft and Alphabet have taken the lead in cloud growth among hyperscalers. Microsoft's Azure crossed $100 billion in annual revenue, up 43% from last year, while Google Cloud grew by 82%. Both companies are investing heavily in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Microsoft generated $20 billion in free cash flow despite spending $36 billion on capital expenditures. Alphabet, on the other hand, went negative on free cash flow and suspended buybacks to fund its AI buildout. Microsoft's contracted backlog of $678 billion makes it a steadier compounder, while Alphabet carries 27% modeled upside for investors willing to take on more risk.

Microsoft's Intelligent Cloud segment posted $39.31 billion in revenue, up 32%, with Azure growing 43%. Satya Nadella stated that Microsoft is advancing the frontier on the cost-to-outcome curve, ensuring every customer can turn tokens into business results.
