Coca-Cola Appoints New Legal Head for African Compliance

Tamryn Sass has joined Coca-Cola as its director and legal counsel for compliance and employment in Africa. The Johannesburg-based lawyer comes from a background of in-house roles, having previously worked at the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the City of Cape Town.

Sass's appointment follows January's hire of Ntswaki Kutumela as Unilever's general counsel for Africa. She brings her experience in governance and regulatory advice to the role, having overseen these areas during her time at the City of Cape Town.

In a LinkedIn post announcing her move, Sass wrote that the new role brings together areas that have shaped much of her career, including legal counsel, compliance and ethics, employment law, and governance. She expressed excitement about working across a diverse continent within a global organization.
