Coca-Cola Becomes Largest Sponsor in NRL History as Chiefs Secure $5 Million Deal
NRL team the Chiefs have announced a major sponsorship deal with Coca-Cola, which will see the brand appear on the team's jerseys for three seasons. The deal is reportedly worth over $5 million and marks Coca-Cola's largest investment in an NRL club to date.
Jarome Luai, who plays for the Wests Tigers but will eventually join the Chiefs, will retain his individual endorsement deal with Pepsi, which is worth around $300,000 per year. However, this deal does not conflict with the Coca-Cola partnership, according to the team's CEO Lorna McPherson.
McPherson explained that Luai's Pepsi deal is an individual agreement and does not involve the Chiefs' brand. She emphasized that the two deals have different parameters and are managed at arms-length from the club.
