Atlanta-based companies Coca-Cola and Chick-fil-A are facing lawsuits over data breaches that exposed sensitive information. A proposed class action was filed in federal district court against Coca-Cola and its dairy brand, Fairlife, after a ransomware attack temporarily shut down production at Fairlife's U.S. facilities. The hacker group claimed credit for the attack and posted online a sample of employee records and other documents.

The lawsuit alleges that Coca-Cola failed to protect sensitive information from hackers, putting employees' personal data at risk. A former Fairlife employee based in Michigan filed the suit, seeking to represent large groups of impacted people.

Chick-fil-A is also facing a proposed class action federal lawsuit related to a data breach of its customer loyalty program, which was disclosed in July.
