Coca-Cola HBC Commits Additional $1.25 Million to Young Nigerian Entrepreneurs
Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) marked its 75th anniversary in Nigeria with Coca-Cola HBC reaffirming its $1 billion investment commitment. NBC began operations in Lagos in 1951 and has since expanded to eight plants, eleven depots, and 52 commercial territories.
Senator Dr. George Akume delivered President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's remarks at the anniversary event, saying 'Seventy-five years ago, Nigerian Bottling Company began a journey in Lagos... Tonight, we celebrate what that journey has produced.'
Anastassis G. David, Chairman of Coca-Cola HBC, reflected on the company's origins, stating 'Belief in Nigeria's people and communities remains as strong today as it has ever been.'
The Coca-Cola system contributed approximately $1 billion in value-added economic activity across its Nigerian value chain in 2024, supporting over 160,000 jobs.
