Coca-Cola Namesake Fields Coming to Arkansas High Schools
Fort Smith Public Schools in Arkansas have secured a new partnership with Coca-Cola that will bring in $400,000 over ten years. The money will be used to replace athletic turf at Northside and Southside high schools. In exchange for the funding, the fields will be named after the beverage giant.
The agreement was approved by the Fort Smith School Board on September 29th, with Coca-Cola committing to pay $40,000 annually. This partnership marks a long-standing relationship between Coca-Cola and the city of Fort Smith, which dates back over a century. Brothers J.W. and Robert Meek acquired rights to bottle Coca-Cola in Fort Smith in 1903.
