Coca-Cola Partners for Mega PET Recycling Drive During Ganesh Chaturthi

Anandana - The Coca-Cola India Foundation and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) have partnered with Sangam Pratishthan for a used PET bottle collection and recycling initiative during Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai and Thane.

The 10-day initiative, which runs from September 16 to 25, focuses on promoting responsible PET waste collection at four high-footfall locations: Ganesh Gully, Thane Cha Raja, Nare Park/Parel Cha Raja, and Rangari.

Devyani R L Rana, Vice President-Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia, emphasized the importance of this initiative: 'Mumbai's Ganeshotsav is a powerful expression of community... Through Maidaan Saaf, we are working with our partners to strengthen collection, segregation, and recycling across these high-footfall celebrations.'

The collected PET bottles will be handed over to recycling partners, keeping them in the recycling stream. The initiative also includes waste bottle caps and labels being transformed into a 'Waste to Wonder' mural by street artists Doodle Mapuls.
