Coca-Cola Partners for Responsible Waste Collection During Ganesh Chaturthi
Anandana, The Coca-Cola India Foundation and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) have teamed up to promote responsible waste collection during Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai and Thane. Running from September 16 to 25, the initiative is focused on collecting used PET bottles at four high-traffic locations: Ganesh Gully, Thane Cha Raja, Nare Park / Parel Cha Raja, and Rangari.
Volunteers from Sangam Pratishthan and Safai Saathis are driving the collection effort. The collected PET will be handed over to recycling partners, keeping it in the recycling stream. This initiative aims to make waste management a more visible and accessible part of India's largest cultural moments.
The 'Waste to Wonder' mural, created by street artists Doodle Mapuls, is an added creative dimension to the initiative. The mural is made from transformed waste bottle caps and labels, giving discarded materials a new expression while encouraging greater collective responsibility towards waste recovery and recycling.
