Coca-Cola Partners with Rome-Floyd Parks for Shade Structures at Alto Park

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation has partnered with Coca-Cola to install new shade structures at Alto Park's upper ballfields. The project, completed over the last few weeks, aims to provide much-needed shade for players, coaches, parents, and spectators.

The installation of shade structures marks the latest phase of improvements at Upper Alto Park, made possible through funding from voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). The facilities are designed to enhance the experience for the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to Alto Park each year for local league and tournament play.

'These types of improvements are certainly nice to have, but at this time, they were simply not something we could afford to do on our own,' said Todd Wofford, Director of Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation. 'For Coca-Cola to step up and help make this happen is huge for us and for the families who use Alto Park.'

The partnership highlights the importance of community investment in local parks and recreation systems. SPLOST funding has enabled Rome and Floyd County to maintain a robust park system, but maintaining these facilities over time can be challenging.
