Coca-Cola Returns to Mexico with $60M Investment
Coca-Cola has opened its first new Mexican bottling plant in nearly three decades, marking a significant investment in the country's beverage industry. The Planta Centenario Valladolid in Yucatán is a joint venture between Coca-Cola and Bepensa, with an initial investment of over 1.2 billion pesos (approximately $60 million USD).
The facility was officially inaugurated by Yucatán Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena alongside corporate executives from both Bepensa and Coca-Cola. Engineered with advanced Industry 4.0 automation technology, the plant can produce over 30,000 bottles per hour.
The strategic location of Valladolid positions the facility as a primary production and distribution hub for southeastern Mexico, serving both Yucatán and neighboring Quintana Roo. The plant generates more than 200 direct jobs and hundreds of indirect supply chain roles in surrounding rural areas.
