Coca-Cola System Contributes $85 Billion to US Economy

The Coca-Cola Company has been a stalwart of American consumer culture for an astonishing 140 years. What was once a single iconic beverage has evolved into a portfolio of approximately 200 brands across various categories, including sparkling soft drinks, waters and hydration, coffee and tea, juices, dairy and plant-based drinks.

The company's U.S. operations, along with its network of 61 bottling partners, contribute significantly to the American economy. According to an independent study commissioned by The Coca-Cola Company, in one year alone, the Coca-Cola system contributed $85 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product, or approximately $10 million in U.S. economic activity every hour.

The Coca-Cola system supports nearly 1 million jobs across the country, including direct jobs within the company, jobs supported by the goods and services it purchases, and the jobs supported through retailers and restaurants where its beverage products are sold and enjoyed.

In addition to its economic contributions, the Coca-Cola system also spends approximately $37 billion with American suppliers, supporting American farmers and a nationwide network of businesses that help source ingredients, produce packaging, and transport beverages across the country.
