Coca-Cola System Generates $1bn in Economic Value for Nigeria
The Coca-Cola System in Nigeria has made significant contributions to the country's economy. According to a recent Socio-Economic Impact Assessment conducted by Steward Redqueen, the system generated $1bn in value-added economic activity within Nigeria in 2024.
The assessment found that the Coca-Cola System supported about 160,200 jobs across its value chain, including 2,989 direct employees and more than 157,200 indirect jobs sustained across various sectors such as agriculture, logistics, retail, hospitality, and distribution.
The study used the Leontief input-output economic model to examine the economic contributions of the Coca-Cola System. It found that for every job the company created directly, it supported an additional 53 jobs elsewhere in the economy, reflecting the multiplier effect of its operations and supply chain activities.
