Coca-Cola Teams Up with Papua New Guinea Chiefs Ahead of NRL Debut
The Papua New Guinea Chiefs rugby league team has secured a major partnership with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners PNG (CCEP PNG), a globally recognized brand. The multi-year deal will see Coca-Cola's branding on the playing sleeves of the Chiefs' jerseys from their debut in 2028 onwards.
CCEP PNG has been a long-standing contributor to grassroots and community work in Papua New Guinea, reflecting their commitment to growth in PNG rugby league pathways. The partnership is seen as a powerful endorsement of the Chiefs' ambitions and a significant opportunity for the club to engage with its community and supporters.
Chiefs CEO Lorna McPherson expressed her excitement about the partnership, stating that Coca-Cola is one of the most recognisable brands in the world and that their alignment creates an incredible opportunity for the club. CCEP PNG Director Tim Solly also welcomed the partnership, highlighting the power of rugby league to unite communities and inspire future generations.
The agreement comes weeks after the Chiefs announced Bank South Pacific as their major sponsor for the club, marking the largest club sponsorship deal in NRL history. The team is set to debut in 2028 with a star-studded lineup that includes household names such as Jarome Luai, Alex Johnston, and Joseph Manu.
