Coca-Cola's $10 Billion Investment: A Closer Look
Coca-Cola has been making headlines recently with its $10 billion investment announcement in U.S. infrastructure by 2030.
However, a closer look at the company's plans reveals that this number is not as large as it seems.
The majority of this spending is systemwide, including investments made by Coca-Cola's bottling partners.
Coca-Cola currently plans to spend $2.2 billion on capital expenditures this year, up from $2.1 billion last year. If the company maintains this rate over the next five years, it would amount to around $11 billion in capex.
Furthermore, total systemwide capex was approximately $8 billion last year, which means that Coca-Cola is on track to spend around $40 billion over the next five years if it continues at its current pace.
