Coca-Cola's $10 Billion Investment Number Gets a Reality Check
Coca-Cola recently announced plans to invest $10 billion in U.S. infrastructure by 2030, but the company's actual investment spending is not as large as it seems.
The $10 billion figure includes systemwide spending, which also covers investments made by its bottling partners, and the company's current capital expenditure plans are actually larger than this number suggests.
Coca-Cola currently plans to invest $2.2 billion in capital expenditures this year, up from last year's $2.1 billion, and if it maintains this spending rate over the next five years, that would total around $11 billion in capex.
The company has also stated that its $10 billion planned U.S. infrastructure investment includes new or expanded production, distribution, and office facilities, most of which were previously announced projects.
