Coca-Cola's Dirty Soda Machine Revolutionizes Fountain Drink Experience
Coca-Cola has developed a new machine that automates the process of making dirty sodas, which combine pop, flavored syrup, and cream. The prototype is an upgraded version of its classic Freestyle dispenser and is designed to eliminate customization options while maintaining the signature look of the drink.
The idea for this machine came about as a response to the growing popularity of dirty sodas, which have gone mainstream in recent years. This trend works in Coke's favor since sparkling soft drinks remain its biggest category, accounting for 69% of the company's overall unit case volume.
Coca-Cola is also testing other innovative dispensers, including Micro Matic 'mixology' machines with AMC Theatres to create colorful refreshers and a new colorless energy drink that will launch in 2027. This push comes as restaurants are leaning towards high-margin beverages to offset cooling food spending.
