Coca-Cola's Nigerian Operations Generate $1 Billion in Economic Activity
A new socio-economic impact assessment conducted by Steward Redqueen has revealed that the Coca-Cola System in Nigeria generated $1 billion in value-added economic activity and supported approximately 160,000 jobs across the country in 2024.
The study used the Leontief input-output model to examine the contributions of Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited and its authorised bottler, the Nigerian Bottling Company. It found that for every direct job created, an additional 53 jobs were supported elsewhere in the economy.
The report also noted that the Coca-Cola System spent about $601 million annually on goods and services sourced from local suppliers, with a significant share of ingredients, packaging materials and other production inputs produced and distributed within Nigeria.
