Coca-Cola's 'Work Can Wait' Campaign Brings Thai Humor and Surrealism to Mealtimes
Ogilvy Singapore and Ogilvy Thailand collaborated on Coca-Cola's global campaign 'The World Will Wait' for a Thai twist called 'Work Can Wait'.
The idea is to encourage people to disconnect from work distractions and reconnect with those around them, especially during mealtimes.
Dentist and cable technician scenarios were chosen as representations of urban Thailand and the Northeast respectively. The surreal element was used to visualize mental distraction without making another film about phone use.
The campaign's success lies in its ability to balance humor with emotional satisfaction, using lived-in table settings and familiar food to convey warmth and presence.
