Compass Takes New Position in IBM Stock Amid Analyst Concerns
Compass Capital Management Inc., a financial institution, has taken a new position in International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) stock. According to its most recent 13F filing with the SEC, Compass acquired approximately 3,000 shares of IBM's technology company stock valued at $727,000 in the first quarter.
Compass is not alone; other hedge funds and institutional investors have also increased or reduced their stakes in the company. Norges Bank recently acquired a new stake worth about $2.446 billion in IBM during the fourth quarter. Capital World Investors lifted its stake by 29.2% in the same period, now owning 22 million shares valued at over $6.5 billion.
Analysts are cautious about IBM's valuation, citing modest growth and leverage as concerns. However, recent quarterly results met earnings expectations, despite revenue falling short of consensus at just 1% year-over-year growth.
