Congressman Buys Up Apple Stock with Automatic Dividend Reinvestment Plan
Congressman Ed Case (D-Hawaii) has been on a consistent buying streak since 2024, and it's all thanks to an automatic dividend reinvestment plan. According to the Benzinga Government Trades page, Case has purchased Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) stock every quarter, with each purchase ranging from $1,000 to $15,000.
This marks the congressman's 10th Apple purchase since 2024, and it's not just him - his wife is also involved in these trades. In fact, the latest trade was made by Case's spouse, who bought $1,000 to $15,000 worth of Apple stock on August 13.
What's more, this isn't an isolated incident. The congressman has only made one non-Apple transaction since 2025 - selling $1,000 to $15,000 in Procter & Gamble shares. This means that for over two years now, Case has been buying Apple stock with the dividends received, a total of $1 million to $5 million.
So what's behind this consistent buying pattern? It seems that Case is taking advantage of Apple's dividend payout, which currently stands at 27 cents per share. With an annual payout of $1.08 per share and an annual dividend yield of 0.35%, it's no wonder the congressman is sticking with Apple.
