Constellation Energy Locks in 20-Year Power Deal with Amazon
Constellation Energy (CEG) and Amazon have signed a long-term power deal for the Calvert Cliffs Clean Energy Center in Maryland.
The contract spans 20 years, with Constellation agreeing to provide Amazon's operations across the PJM market with 690 megawatts of power. This deal is expected to support over $3 billion in investment at the plant and will see about 190 megawatts of new capacity come online between 2030 and 2032.
Constellation Energy CEO Joe Dominguez stated that this agreement demonstrates how private investment can strengthen critical energy infrastructure, while an AWS executive noted it supports hundreds of jobs and adds new generation to the grid.
