Conveyor Belt Keyboard Brings Keys to Your Fingers
Google Japan has unveiled a new DIY Gboard keyboard concept that takes an unconventional approach to typing. Instead of moving your fingers across a traditional keyboard, this conveyor belt-style keyboard brings the keys to you.
The idea is for each key to be mounted on a continuous moving belt, allowing users to simply wait for the character they want to type as it rolls past. This design accommodates both uppercase and lowercase letters and can be used for one-handed or single-finger typing, making it potentially more efficient.
While this concept might seem far-fetched, Google Japan has a tradition of showcasing unusual keyboard designs on October 1st each year, which is why they call it the 'rotating Gboard keyboard'. This year's design may be one of the strangest yet, but it's also open source, allowing users to build their own version if they have the necessary skills and components.
