CoreWeave Expands AI Compute Portfolio with Nvidia Vera CPU
CoreWeave is expanding its compute portfolio by offering Nvidia's Vera CPU as standalone computing capacity for artificial intelligence agents. The company, listed on NASDAQ under the ticker CRWV, plans to provide access to the first CPU designed specifically for AI agents. This move addresses a growing need in AI infrastructure: running software tools, code, and data-processing tasks that are necessary for AI models.
The Vera processor will support more than 11,000 concurrent computing environments per rack, using 128 CPUs. CoreWeave's tests showed that agent sandboxes started more than three times as fast on Vera compared to an alternative x86 processor. The company's CPU portfolio now includes AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon processors.
The announcement comes after Nvidia launched Vera in March, identifying the need for a CPU designed specifically for AI agents. CoreWeave's service is set to launch soon, although no specific date or pricing information has been provided.
