Counterpoint Forecasts 6M iPhone Duo Sales by Year's End
Apple's foldable iPhone Duo has not yet gone on sale, but one research firm is already forecasting its sales. Counterpoint Research estimates that Apple will sell about 6 million units in 2026, with the figure depending on how quickly Apple ramps up production.
The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 for 256GB and runs to $3,199 for 2TB. Analysts are split over what this price means for demand and margins. Evercore ISI's Amit Daryanani believes that Apple will sell every Duo it can build in the first six months.
However, Jefferies holds an Underperform rating and argues that Apple is protecting volume at the expense of margin. Bank of America has trimmed its target to $370 from $380 due to rising memory costs.
Tarun Pathak, research director at Counterpoint, calls the 6 million figure an upper-end estimate and highlights durability, hinge reliability, weight, and battery life as major challenges for foldables.
